Blood:water
Mission

Blood:Water Mission is a non-profit organization founded by the members of the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning band, Jars of Clay, to address the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa.

Blood:Water Mission exists to promote clean blood and clean water efforts in Africa, tangibly reducing the impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic while addressing the underlying issues of poverty, injustice and oppression. Blood:Water Mission is building clean water wells, supporting medical facilities, and focusing on community and worldview transformation, both here in America and in Africa.

Seeds of Hope and Blood:Water Mission have similar hearts for holistic community development and spiritual transformation in Africa, and are just at the beginning of an exciting partnership together. In summer 2008, Seeds of Hope was tremendously blessed to receive approval for a three year project with Blood:Water Mission!! This generous grant will establish or restore hundreds of wells and provide for the building and installation of thousands of biosand filters, providing safe water to hundreds of thousands of people over the next several years. Numerous participatory hygiene trainings, sanitation promotion trainings and construction of demonstration latrines will be provided in communities in the Copperbelt and Lusaka Provinces in Zambia.  This grant is allowing us to fund up to 80% of our water development projects and is propelling SHIP forward to a new level. This also opens the door for us to begin to build the agriculture side of the ministry and focus on incorporating a HIV/AIDS component to our hygiene training. Blood:Water Mission has also already provided much needed trucks and vans to facilitate the work of Seeds of Hope in Zambia.
We are blessed beyond words to be partnering with Blood:Water Mission and are excited about working together in the years ahead!
