Flood Response
The Seeds of Hope staff in Zambia has been working hard to address the flooding crisis in Chipulukusu. The heavy rains have continued, leaving hundreds of families without homes as houses continue to collapse. This is one of the worst crises this community has ever faced. Community leaders have asked SHIP to help address the critical water contamination issues by supplying bio sand filters and strategically locating them throughout the compound of 65,000 people. So far, SHIP has delivered and installed 100 bio sand filters into homes in the community, and provided hygiene training along with the filters. The response to this aid has been very positive. Our crew has also managed to build a cover for our sand filter factory so we can continue building filters despite the rain, and we are now increasing our sand filter production to 100+ per month. Despite obstacles of limited transportation and continued heavy rains, SHIP’s work in Chipulukusu is having a large impact on the people. We appreciate your continued prayers for this community and SHIP’s ministry there.
Please help SHIP address this crisis by sending in funds designated for “flood relief.”
