Rotary International

Seeds of Hope is blessed to have been working in partnership with the Santa Maria South Rotary Club to facilitate the drilling of community development wells targeting lasting change in communities in Zambia. We have been given an international matching grant from the Santa Maria South Rotary and the Ndola Rotary of Zambia. This grant covers the drilling of three wells, training and equipping community leaders to repair the wells, conducting hygiene and sanitation trainings to increase the effectiveness of the clean water we have brought, and also building and distributing one hundred bio sand filters. These combined efforts have brought clean water to around 8,000 people. The communities have been overwhelmed with thankfulness for the help that has been provided for them by this partnership between Seeds of Hope and Rotary.

On a trip to Zambia in the summer of 2006, Seeds of Hope Director Kirk Schauer was able to meet with Patrick Coleman, the Rotary Governor of District 9210 of Zambia. He was very impressed with what we are doing in Zambia and wants to help us in any way possible.

Seeds of Hope is very excited about the possibilities of establishing further partnerships with additional Rotary clubs, both locally and abroad. We would love to see our efforts to bring clean water and hope multiplied in many more communities throughout Zambia, and greatly appreciate the generous partnership of Rotary International in helping to make that happen.
