OUR VISION       THE NEED       OUR RESPONSE       WHERE WE WORK       STAFF       CORE VALUES

S.H.I.P. is being led by the founding director Kirk Schauer. Kirk served as Associate Pastor of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Santa Maria. He and his wife Denise have extensive overseas experience - living in Hong Kong working to rehabilitate heroin addicts both spiritually and physically. They facilitated job skills trainings and church planting. They also lived in Cambodia where they helped to establish initial structures for community development along with church planting. Kirk is involved in training and mentoring others in these areas, specifically team building, cross cultural ministry, being naturally supernatural by using spiritual gifts, and various community development trainings. In addition to Kirk, Seeds of Hope is blessed to now have several US staff members who work hard to keep SHIP running while Kirk is busy traveling back and forth to Zambia. SHIP is also kept going by the sacrifice and commitment of numerous volunteers.

Seeds of Hope is continually working to build our staff in Zambia. We have a great team of people with a real heart for bringing change and hope to their country.

In Zambia, Seeds of Hope has over sixty Zambians on staff in the different departments of administration, drilling and pump repair, hygiene and sanitation, biosand filters, and agriculture.

From the beginning days of Seeds of Hope, Pastor Francis Feruka was been instrumental in mentoring and directing the SHIP Zambia staff. Francis has now stepped down from official SHIP leadership so that he can focus his time on pastoring the Mapalo Vineyard Christian Fellowship, which he has led since the church was planted in 2003. Francis’ wife, Flavia, is a nurse working with HIV patients in home health care, and heads the SHIP hygiene department. Francis and Flavia have been an incredible blessing in leading the team in Zambia. They truly have a father’s heart for the people. Seeds of Hope would not be where we are without their integrity and hard work.
